Building Words
In this project, we had to use what we had learned in the past month about shapes, compositions, colors and typography. The assignment was to build a word in real life, then take a picture of it, make small edits in photoshop and finally make a second version in photoshop. I chose the word "POLAR".
The Process:
At first I wanted to create the word in ice, so it was melting when i should take the picture to comment on the environmental crisis. After a long process trying to make the forms where water should go in, i found out that it was impossible for me. So i created letters in the font Futura out of cardboard, dressed it with cotton so it looked a bit like a polarbear. I then froze big pieces of ice to lay around the word.
The Original Poster:
I wanted to create a very cold picture to illustrate the weather we have to take care of in the world. There still had to be a warm element as you can see in the right upper corner it is a bit warmer to illustrate that its getting warmer and warmer these places, so the ice i made is melting.
